My name is Rachel. I have just completed by Masters of Architecture at Ryerson University. My Master's thesis was on informality in the informal built-fabric. I am currently working (building government projects in the city of Edmonton), but am working on extending my research interest to my new local context. I hope this work keeps going.

(2008 - 2010): I am a second year graduate student at Ryerson University in Toronto. I am studying Architecture.

This is a collection of research for my Master’s thesis. I hope to define my topic soon, and perhaps get feedback from the wider community. Please browse and comment if you wish. Also, if you'd like to submit further comments or research, email me.

Just a warning that this entire page is a work-in-progress. I am very likely to change my mind and contradict myself in the next few weeks as I define and narrow my topic. As I finalize documents I will post them.

“Dharavi, Slum for Sale” (CH /D 2010, 80 min., 1:1.85, DolbySR)

Film by Lutz Konermann that investigates the redevelopment scheme proposed by Mukesh Mehta. I’ve only seen the first 3:33 (the preview released), but it looks like a visually stunning film that will no doubt look deeply at the attempt by both sides to achieve their goals.

I would really like to see the whole thing.
